Vlinder Invest is an independent private equity firm that in collaboration with entrepreneurs builds successful companies. As an active shareholder we use our financial, strategic and operational expertise to support our portfolio companies in realising growth. Vlinder Invest is founded and financed by experienced entrepreneurs that believe value creation for stakeholders can be achieved through clear commitment and healthy ambition.
Vlinder Invests on a Deal-by-Deal basis and is able to adjust conditions to specific investment situations, wherein the mix of knowledge, expertise and capital may vary. Unlike traditional closed-ended investment funds, we have an open-ended structure and are therefore not limited to a termination date of the fund, there is no pressure to invest or disinvest.
The investment focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises in which Vlinder Invest can be of added value in realising growth, improvement or a successful transformation

Vlinder Invest uses a direct approach, is personally involved in every step and offers expertise, support and network to portfolio companies. We cooperate with management and shareholders, invest our own capital and work proactively.
Vlinder Invest invests with a thought out strategy. However, being a private investor we are able to assess new strategeies in a timely fashion and excecute them accurately, without any bureaucracy or hierarchy.
Team
Bart Meuter
Bart Meuter has worked with CVC Capital Partners, an international investment firm, for 12 years. He managed investments in C1000 supermarkets, RAET software, VolkerWessels, Van Gansewinkel, LEAF, Retail Network, Univar and Verdugt. He's an all-rounder with excelent financial skills as well as an entrepreneurial spirit. Recent transactions include Tony Chocolonely, Denham Jeans, ID&T, ITA. He's also involved with The NXT museum, the Dutch Committee of Human Rights Watch and a board member at Impact Makers. Bart lives in Amsterdam with his wife and three kids.
Frederik Vernede
Frederik is focused on leading value creation for entrepreneurs and family owned companies for SME's by combining a solid strategy consulting background with over 7 years of experience in various executive positions for Private Equity owned businesses. Strong in finding opportunities for (renewed) organic growth as well as inorganic growth through acquisitions – having completed a range of acquisitions in the SME market. Activities include assessing M&A opportunities ( inc. deal sourcing) up to driving the entire transaction until integration and ranging from drafting term sheets to strategy development and cost optimizations.
